Elle has lived in Abergavenny for ten years and is now living in Llanddewi Rhydderch just on the outskirts of Abergavenny. She was born in Llanhilleth and a daughter of a miner.
"When my husband and I first came to the village, I became very ill and almost lost my life - after a few operations I spent long periods alone not knowing anyone. I turned my time into my art work - that became my therapy and it still is. Through art I've met many lovely people who have gone on to become good friends."
Elle explains that it is the wonderful countryside around us that inspires her to paint. "I've always loved to draw but only recently I have begun painting and my work continues to get better. I also love to write poetry about the experiences and people I meet in my life."
I've always felt an urge and passion to draw, paint, sculpt, sew, design and create. My passion has always been there, even as a young child where my parents, aunties/uncles always bought me art materials, knitting & sewing crafts for Christmas.
I would always be making things out of bits and bobs from around the house. since then I've successfully designed and made soft toys to exhibit and sell at craft fairs. We now live in the beautiful Abergavenny countryside. I feel blessed and greatly inspired by its beauty of green fields and farmland which has been a catalyst for my passion for Art and Photography.
